Introduction
The DOGGO team supports the practice of protection for human and animal rights. The following information is provided for you to decide whether you wish to participate in the DOGGO DCTI process. You may refuse to participate at any time. You should be aware that even if you agree to participate and commence, you are free to withdraw at any time. If you do withdraw from the process, it will not affect your relationship with the DOGGO team, however it is worth noting that some pet care providers rely on the DOGGO database and may have its use as a condition of their service.
Procedure
The procedure involves collection of personal and behavioural information relating to an animal and its ownership. This information is also updated with regular information about the location or activities of your pet. At times this information may be presented in screens or compiled into report for consideration as part of an ongoing quality assurance or development processes. This information is also stored for historical purposes and can consistute a record of your pet's time in and out of pet care services. You can also supplement this information with vet information if you like as it will provide a more comprehensive picture of your pet's history and needs.
Risks
The process is confidential however limited in the following ways: (1) The contact details for each pet is available to the pet carers who are caring for them (this information is not sold on or released to other parties); (2) The name of the pet (and at times their owner) will appear on some screens; (3) Qualitative responses to the open-ended questions can appear verbatim in the pet’s report so if you are concerned about content being shown, careful wording is recommended. If concerns persist, you can choose not to answer some questions.
Benefits
Involvement in the process has many benefits including greater transparency, accuracy and greater connectivity between pet carer, owner and their pet(s).
